1. The Classic Way: Standard Observation Deck Visit
Experience Steps:
• Book tickets online.
• Exchange tickets at the counter.
• Enter after ticket inspection.
Observation Options:
• 124+125 floors for general admission.
• 148 floors for VIP access.
Enhancements:
• Viewing deck + VR experiences + interactive digital maps.
This is the most common way to experience the Burj Khalifa. You’ll ride the world’s fastest elevator to your designated floor. Before heading up, you’ll need to exchange your e-ticket at the ticket counter inside Dubai Mall. Be prepared to show your passport if needed.
Once you have your ticket, follow the staff’s guidance. Before entering the tower, there are several photo opportunities. However, photos are chargeable (approximately AED 150 per picture, with discounts for packages). While these heavily edited pictures may not appeal to everyone, keep in mind that personal photography is allowed inside. Selfies are just as memorable!
Due to the tower’s incredible height, you might even catch the “double sunset phenomenon” if you’re lucky.
For an even more thrilling experience, try the VR headset. You’ll feel like Tom Cruise standing at the very tip of the tower, overlooking Dubai from a whole new perspective. Want to explore other attractions around the Burj Khalifa? The interactive digital maps make it easy—just click on the point of interest for details.
2. Combined Experience: Burj Khalifa + Aquarium (Sky to Sea)
Experience Steps:
• Book tickets online.
• Exchange tickets at the counter.
• Follow your ticket timing for entry.
Order of Play:
• Start with the tower (earlier closing time).
• Visit the aquarium afterward.
Highlights:
• Soar high to admire the city and dive deep into the underwater world.
This combo ticket offers great value, letting you explore both the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Aquarium, making for an exciting half-day adventure. Since the tower closes earlier than the aquarium, your combo ticket’s timing defaults to the tower first, followed by the aquarium.
Burj Khalifa Observation Deck: Details of the observation deck experience have already been covered.
Dubai Aquarium:
For combo tickets, the ticket collection process differs slightly. If you’ve purchased a standalone Burj Khalifa ticket, follow the mall’s signs to the ticket counter at the base of the tower. If you’ve purchased a standalone aquarium ticket, head to the aquarium entrance. For combo tickets, go directly to the aquarium’s rightmost counter (marked “At the Top”).
The aquarium offers two types of tickets:
• Standard ticket: General admission.
• Explorer ticket: Includes interactive experiences, such as animal encounters.
After descending from the tower, enter the aquarium and start your journey through the 48-meter underwater tunnel, where you’ll see fish swimming gracefully all around you.
Next, head to the Underwater Zoo on the second floor of the mall via an escalator. Many visitors mistakenly think the aquarium ends after the tunnel, but the zoo is the true gem! Spend at least an hour exploring its 36 independent exhibits, each with information in English and Arabic about the fascinating creatures inside.
3. Dining Experiences: Burj Khalifa Restaurants
Options:
• At.mosphere: Fine dining on the 122nd floor.
• Armani Mediterraneo: A Mediterranean buffet located on the ground and first floors of the Armani Hotel.
Tips:
• Dress formally.
• Make reservations in advance.
• At.mosphere does not allow children under 10 for lunch or dinner.
For those who want a luxurious experience without purchasing an observation deck ticket, dining is a great option.
At.mosphere: As the world’s highest restaurant, At.mosphere is managed by the Armani Hotel. Its exceptional service and elegant ambiance make it worth the price. Upon arrival, staff will escort you to the exclusive elevator that takes you to the restaurant. Breakfast is available for families with children under 10, but lunch and dinner are reserved for adults only.
Signature dishes include oysters, steak, foie gras, and savory mushroom tarts. The restaurant also serves freshly baked bread and offers live music performances. Throughout the meal, attentive servers will ensure you’re well taken care of.
Armani Mediterraneo: While not located inside the Burj Khalifa itself, this Mediterranean buffet on the ground floor of the Armani Hotel offers views of the Dubai Fountain from its window-side seating.
