Transportation from Moscow Airports

Moscow’s three major airports are all connected to the city center via the Aeroexpress rail service, with each airport linking to a specific central station:

Sheremetyevo Airport (SVO): Aeroexpress ends at Belorussky Railway Station, where you can store your luggage and transfer to the metro.

(Note: Russian railway stations are typically named after the destinations their trains head towards. For example, Belorussky Station serves trains bound for Belarus.)

Aeroexpress Tickets:

• Tickets can be purchased online in advance (slightly cheaper than buying on-site, at just over 400 rubles, about 40 RMB at current exchange rates).

• On-site tickets are also available.

• Promotional offers: At the time, UnionPay credit cards starting with “62” allowed passengers to enjoy a special fare of just 1 ruble.

Transportation Within Moscow

1. Uber: Available in Moscow and convenient for travelers.

2. Metro & Buses: Public transport fares are calculated per trip, not by distance.

• A single metro ticket costs approximately 55 rubles.

• Bus tickets can be purchased directly from the driver and are also charged per trip.

• During major events like the World Cup, some routes offer free rides to passengers with a Fan ID.

3. Bus Access Control: Moscow buses have gates similar to those in the metro. After purchasing a ticket from the driver, scan it at the gate to access the seating area.
