Tokyo Route – Cherry Blossoms and Modern City Life

1. Route Recommendation

Itinerary:

Day 1: Tokyo Tower – Nihonbashi – Marunouchi – Yaesu Sakura Street

Day 2: Hakone Onsen – Meguro River

Route Features: Wander through the modern city, stopping for food, drinks, and shopping while enjoying the cherry blossoms. The combination of sakura and city life is not to be missed.

To truly immerse yourself in the cherry blossom season, walking is the best way. Unlike the cooler, more remote mountain cherry blossoms, those in Tokyo have integrated seamlessly into the city’s daily life. Stroll along the streets of Tokyo, surrounded by towering skyscrapers, and spot the pink blossoms drifting through the urban landscape, almost as if you’re walking through a manga. When you need a break, pop into a nearby shop for a bite to eat, a drink, or some shopping, and then return to the enchanting reality of the city.

Best for: Urban youth

Time Needed: 2 days (Late March to Early April)

Transportation: Subway, Taxi

2. Itinerary Highlights

Start your day by taking a stroll around Tokyo Tower, where the cherry blossoms surround you. After a break, head to Nihonbashi, the commercial center, and pass through Marunouchi and the East Garden of the Imperial Palace. Then, take a detour to Yaesu Sakura Street near Tokyo Station to enjoy the nighttime sakura blossoms. On the second day, relax in the hot springs in Hakone, and return to Tokyo in the evening for the sakura at Meguro River.

Nihonbashi is a commercial center and shopping paradise. By early April, sakura trees bloom along the streets.

Marunouchi is Tokyo’s business district, and after work, office workers often visit the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace to view the night sakura.

• In Yaesu Sakura Street, you’ll find various food stalls and drinks celebrating sakura season.

After a day of city exploration, spend your second day soaking in a hot spring in Hakone, then head back to Tokyo for night cherry blossoms at
